Key Notes for Connecticut
Connecticut's elevator program is mature and well-documented. Key distinguishing features: (1) Mandatory on-site Maintenance Control Program documentation, (2) Single-bottom-cylinder hydraulic retrofit mandate, (3) State inspector witnessing requirement for all required tests, (4) 18-month routine inspection interval for commercial units, (5) Private residence exception for routine inspection (owner-request basis only). Connecticut General Statutes § 29-195 et seq. establish the statutory framework, with Regulation 29-192-4e adopting ASME A17.1-2013 effective January 3, 2018.
