02 TESTING

Testing & Inspection Schedule

Routine Inspection
Annual (12 months)

All elevators must be inspected annually per Maine requirements. Comprehensive inspection per ASME A17.1-2013 covering hoistway, pit, car-top, machine room, door equipment, and safety devices. Hydraulic elevators require annual pressure testing. Inspection certificate valid per expiration date.

Category 1 Test
Annual (12 months)

Category 1 periodic test per ASME A17.1-2013 covering no-load safety-device tests and routine maintenance verification. Testing schedule: between January 1 - December 31 annually.

Category 5 Test
Every 5 years

Category 5 periodic test per ASME A17.1-2013 covering full-load/full-speed comprehensive safety test. Required every 5 years per schedule.

03 LICENSING

Licensing Requirements

Elevator Inspector

Maintenance, repair, and testing of elevators and related equipment
